Most adverbs end in 'ly', but some adverbs do not. Indoors, outdoors and unawares are adverbs that do not end in 'ly'. How do you use them correctly? Read these examples.
They play indoors when it is rainy, but play outdoors when the weather is fine.
The murder victim was caught unawares by the intruder and was strangled.
An adverb that ends with 's' and is a root word itself is sideways. If you ever spell it as sideway, you are wrong. The 's' must not be dropped. If someone asks you: How do crabs walk? Your answer should be: They walk sideways, NOT sideway.
Words like early, fast, non-stop, live, late can be taken as adverbs as well as adjectives.
