Possessive Determiners/Adjectives

Possessive determiners are also known as possessive adjectives, and are used to show something that belongs to somebody. Possessive determiners/adjectives are words like my, your, our, his, her, their, its.

Possessive determiners/adjectives are easy to use in sentences.

Those are my reference books.
(It means you own the reference books.)

These are your pencils.
(It means you own the pencils.)

This is our car.
(It means we own the car.)

That is his ruler.
(It means he owns the ruler.)

Those are her discs.
(It means she owns the discs.)

That is their house.
(It means they own the house.)

This is its food.
[It means it (e.g. the cat) owns the food.]
